Why and Who
PERFORMANCE NORTH was founded with a passion to fill the gap that has been missing from all corporate learning and development programs.
The gap is a lack of a scientific, measurable and objective understanding of how one's thinking affects their performance; and, how to leverage this knowledge toward developing superior leadership and sales skills for accelerated revenue growth.
Spencer Marona, CSC
Founder and Owner
"It's only a problem if you think it's a problem."
Spencer Marona has generated more than one billion dollars in sales in his career as an individual contributor and senior team leader for some of the largest and most reputable organizations in the world. He is a highly sought-after leadership coach, sales trainer, body language coach and keynote speaker.
Currently, Spencer is a Vice President with Matthews Real Estate Investment Services, the nation's fastest growing commercial real estate company. Prior to founding PERFORMANCE NORTH in 2016, Spencer was the managing director at HFO Investment Real Estate, the Pacific Northwest’s leader in multifamily investment property sales. He oversaw the strategy and execution of the firm’s short and long-term objectives. During his time, HFO’s revenue and net profits grew nearly 300%.
Spencer's career in commercial real estate began as a broker at Flinn Ferguson Corporate Real Estate, in Seattle, WA where he trained and worked with some of the top brokers in the country.
Preceding HFO, Spencer managed sales teams for multiple west coast markets at Marcus & Millichap Real Estate Investment Services. He was responsible for recruiting, hiring, broker sales skills training, strategy for his markets and assisting brokers to procure new clients.
In addition, Spencer's track record also opened a door for him to work on a business development and sales team at Amazon where to scale Amazon's Automotive merchant business. During this time Spencer earned a top producer award and helped grow the Amazon Automotive new merchant account 1,900% in two years, resulting in sales revenue growth of 245% in 2012 & 298% in 2013. In less than 18 months, his team grew $13 million of organic revenue to over $100 million.
In college, Spencer played football for the University of Washington and participated in five bowl games including the 2001 Rose Bowl Championship. Spencer's playing career ended after the first game of his junior year in 2001 due to ongoing shoulder injuries (5 surgeries); however, he was fortunate to have an opportunity to student-coach for the Huskies under Head Coach Rick Neuheisel and legendary Defensive Line Coach Randy Hart.
Currently, Spencer lives in Seattle with his wife Lisa and four children.
